Microsoft is refreshing Xbox Game Pass Ultimate again this month, bringing new titles to the service while removing some fan-favorites. This update will see seven games leave Cloud Gaming across Xbox Series S and X, including one of the most well-loved RPGs of recent years – Lies of P.
One of the biggest losses from this month’s removals is Lies of P, the dark and twisted RPG that reimagines the classic tale of Pinocchio in a nightmarish, steampunk-inspired world. Developed by Neowiz Games and released in 2023, Lies of P quickly became one of the most praised Soulslike games, earning a reputation for its brutal combat, haunting environments, and gripping story.
Set in the mysterious city of Krat, Lies of P follows the journey of Pinocchio, a puppet-turned-warrior who must battle horrific mechanical creatures and uncover the dark truth behind his origins. The game draws heavy inspiration from Bloodborne and Dark Souls, blending punishing difficulty with deep storytelling and an eerie Victorian aesthetic.
What makes Lies of P stand out is its unique “lying” mechanic. Throughout the game, Pinocchio must make choices that determine how much of his humanity he retains. These decisions impact the story, leading to multiple endings and encouraging replayability. The combat is fast, intense, and filled with brutal counterattacks, making each battle feel both rewarding and punishing.
